Starting Point:  What Is A Learning Behavior

One of the most important steps before beginning your homeschooling journey is understanding how your child learns best.

  • Does your child need to move, wiggle, and stay actively engaged while learning? Or do they prefer a quiet environment with clear instructions and independent work?

  • Do they learn best through songs, repetition, and memorization? Or do they prefer reading, analyzing information, and following step-by-step directions?

These are all examples of learning behaviors that play a significant role in determining which curriculum and teaching methods will be most effective for your child.

Choosing a curriculum that aligns with the way your child naturally learns can increase engagement, improve retention, reduce frustration, and create a more enjoyable homeschool experience for both parent and student.

Before selecting a curriculum, I strongly encourage you to take my Learning Behavior Quiz. The results will help you identify whether your child is primarily a left-brain, right-brain, or whole-brain learner and provide valuable guidance as you create a homeschool plan that fits your family's unique needs.
